I needed an excuse to write, so I thought I would write about dark chocolate covered almonds, because why not? Seriously, they are amazingly delicious. I could go on, in fact I will, because you need to read this.

Dark chocolate covered almonds or dark chocolate bars with almonds are about the best candy that mankind has developed thus far in our history. Of all the amazing concotions humans have created to delight and provide joy, dark chocolate and almonds are one of life’s purest joys. It’s got to be right up there with coffee.

I admit that my love of chocolate and almonds began as more of a chocolate and peanut kind of thing, but I tell you what, it’s changed as I’ve got older. Now, instead of peanuts and chocolate, which is still fantastic, I’m going for the chocolate and almonds. It’s a bit of a change, but still pretty close.

I’m going to go ahead and name drop a couple of my favorite products to enjoy this guilty pleasure of mine. First, I love the Green’s Organic dark chocolate, though I don’t believe they make a variety with almonds. Their milk chocolate with almonds is delightful, if perhaps a bit too sweet. For this I’ll make an exception and say that Green’s chocolate is pretty good across the board, so I can’t say anything but good things about what I’ve had of Green’s chocolate.

My go to source of dark chocolate and almonds is actually the $2 Trader Joe’s dark chocolate and almonds candy bar. It is just so good and so much cheaper than Green’s chocolate in most stores. I’ve seen Green’s vfor more like four dollars per bar. That’s two bars for the price of one in favor to Trader Joe’s.

I purposely limit how much chocolate I allow myself to eat just because it is so calorie dense, but a little bit every once in a while can be a pretty good thing. I think it’s worth a little indigence every now and then.

You can buy simply chocolate covered almonds not in a chocolate bar, but usually it isn’t as high quality as what you get in a high quality chocolate bar. That is just personal preference I suppose.

An Aside…

You might be wondering why I would take time to write some kind of essay on dark chocolate and almonds. That is fair as not much of this blog has anything to do with this particular topic. I’ll concede this is an entirely random blog post. The reason I wrote it is to be a better writer.

If you want to get good at anything you have to practice that thing until you gain some level of mastery. I am practicing writing by forcing myself to churn through at least 500 words or so at least once a day. It is frankly one of those things you just have to force yourself to do if you are going to do it.

Thus, I write this post simply because I kind of have to. It’s random and that is okay. It’s how I get better. So there it is.
